About Montalto

The hilltop town of Montalto delle Marche sits amongst rolling hills and offers magnificent views of both the Adriatic Sea and the Sibillini Mountain National Park, both just a short drive away.

The town itself has a population of around 3,000 and has a peaceful atmosphere with its picturesque cobbled streets and imposing Cathedral, built by Pope Sisto V. Down in the main square you will find a couple of bars and café for a leisurely drink, and all the local amenities.

There is everything you need in the town: greengrocers, butchers, minimarket, fresh pasta shop, doctors, chemists, opticians, fishmonger, cake shop, flower shop, newsagents, Post Office, as well as some great local restaurants and pizzerias.

On Wednesday mornings there is a weekly market offering a variety of local produce.

Montalto has a genuine local atmosphere, and we are sure you will enjoy discovering the real heart of Italy here!
